Trichet told the EU parliament's economic and monetary affairs committee that the ECB believes the currencies of many Asian emerging countries are undervalued against the euro and the dollar. 'This is the case of the Chinese currency, but not only of the Chinese currency,' he said. Answering questions, he said of the yuan: 'There is a problem and that problem has to be solved.'
